For the second three weeks I was by myself in the Mission House.  Sister Beverley, who runs the Mission House, is a tower of strength.  Quite apart from being a superb administrator - anything she organises stays organized - she is also one of the most sympathetic and helpful people in the school, with a personal knowledge of the problems and difficulties of just about all the staff, and all the female students.  She can only be described as a Godsend.  A typical incident was at the confirmation service (below).  Various dogs have a habit of wandering into the chapel during services, and particularly like to join in any singing with very loud but not very tuneful howling.  For this important service, Sister Beverley had a little talk to them beforehand, and although present in quantity the dogs all behaved perfectly and didn't howl once.
