LICENCES
We offer the following types of licences:
- Single user licence
- Site licence
- Off-campus licence (Greygum Software only)
Single user licence
A single user licence is exactly what is says: it's a licence to install and use the software on just one computer.
Site licence
When it comes to buying a site licence, each software publisher has different requirements. Here are all the details about what applies to the packages on this website.
- Greygum Software
- 4Mation Educational Resources
Greygum Software
- The purchase of one copy of a package allows the purchaser to install and use the software on one computer only.
- The purchase of two copies of a package by an educational institution constitutes a site licence. The software may be installed on a network or on any number of stand-alone computers that are owned by the purchasing institution and are situated within one campus of the institution.
Exceptions
- Special site licence provisions exist regarding Maths Circus Act 4 and Maths Circus Act 5.
If a school already owns a site licence for Maths Circus Act 1 it needs only to purchase one Act 4 to obtain a site licence.
If a school already owns a site licence for Maths Circus Act 2 it needs only to purchase one Act 5 to obtain a site licence.- In the case of SpinWorks, one copy constitutes a site licence.
Off-campus licence
An off-campus licence is available for institutions using laptops. Provided the institution has a site licence, the software may be installed on any number of laptops that are owned by or leased out to staff or students, provided one extra copy is purchased for every 20 laptops on which it is installed. Thus for installation on 35 laptops, the institution would need to purchase four copies of a package (two for the site licence, one for the first 20 laptops and another for the remainder).
4Mation Educational Resources
There are two versions of 4Mation’s packages: The single user version is for use with one computer only. The site licence version may be used on any number of computers within the purchasing institution. Institutions may upgrade an existing single user version to a site licence at any time. We can supply information about mixed-platform site licences on request.
