A Mouse in Holland is a delightful piece of interactive fiction written by the team responsible for the incredibly popular Flossy the Frog. Martin Mouse lives in a windmill outside Amsterdam. After exploring some of the extraordinary features of his home (why is the Dutch navy hiding in his wash basin?), children can travel with Martin to Amsterdam and explore the streets, canals and museums of this fascinating city. Although there are over 3000 words of text in the adventure, it is still quite suitable for emerging readers because of the highly interactive nature of the animation and crazy humour.
Apart
from helping Martin enjoy his Amsterdam adventure, children will also
have fun searching for hidden cheese, fruit and those cheeky moles
who seem to pop up in the strangest places. |
